The Experience team is responsible for optimizing app experience related to performance for TikTok users. This team collaborates with all teams in the video creation and consumption ecosystem to provide end-to-end optimization solutions, including client, shooting, uploading, video playback, video delivery and player, etc.

We are looking for seasoned big data engineers that have strong problem solving skills and algorithm understanding to build and manage scalable, reliable systems under trillion level data environment. You will have the opportunity to partner closely with a globalized engineering and product teams in a high-impact and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop big data systems under trillion level data environment;
• Collaborate with product managers to define and develop big data applications;
• Drive cross-team communication to align design and implementation.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant majors;
• 3+ years of software engineering experience in a big data environment;
• Familiar with at least one of apache big data systems, Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Druid, Impala, etc;
• Strong communication skills;
• Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Golang, Java, Python.
• Ability to think critically and to formulate solutions to problems in a clear and concise way.
• Open source committee will be a plus.

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $102400 - $221760 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
